Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal data — in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Who we are

This privacy policy applies to Vidhya Shekhar Group of Institutions (“we”, “us”, “the Trust”), operated by Vidhya Shekhar Education Trust (R), located at NH-4, Tumkur Road, Nelamangala, Bengaluru, Karnataka — 562123, India.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Information you provide voluntarily — name, phone, email, programme of interest, and any message you submit through our enquiry forms.
  • Automatically collected technical data — pages viewed, browser type, device type, approximate location (city/region from IP), and time spent on each page. This is collected only after you accept analytics cookies.
  • Cookies & local storage — we use a small number of first-party cookies and a single local-storage flag to remember your cookie-consent choice.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your admissions enquiry and provide programme information.
  • To call or email you about your enquiry within 24 hours.
  • To improve the website — understanding which programmes parents and students are interested in.
  • To comply with applicable Indian laws (DPDP Act 2023, Information Technology Act).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID G-6VTBY40FHD) to understand site usage. Analytics tracking is disabled by default on your first visit. We collect analytics data only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner.

If you click “Reject” or close the banner without accepting, no analytics or advertising cookies are stored on your device. Only essential cookies (security, navigation) remain.

You can revoke consent at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this domain — the banner will reappear on your next visit.

5. How we share your data

We share your data only with:

  • Our admissions counsellors — staff of Vidhya Shekhar Group of Institutions who follow up on your enquiry.
  • Service providers — Google (Analytics), email/SMS gateways, and our website hosting provider. These providers process data on our instructions only.
  • Law enforcement — only if compelled by a valid court order under Indian law.

6. Your rights under the DPDP Act

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or erasure of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent for processing.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf.
  • File a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, write to info@vidyashekharinstitutions.in with the subject line “Privacy Request”. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data retention

We retain admission enquiry data for up to 24 months from the date of submission, after which it is securely deleted unless you have enrolled as a student (in which case academic record retention rules apply).

Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months by default, then automatically deleted.

8. Data security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all communication between your browser and our servers. Internal access to enquiry data is restricted to the admissions team.

9. Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for prospective students aged 16 and above (after SSLC) and their parents/guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below 16 without verifiable parental consent.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as our practices change or as required by law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via a banner on the homepage.
